Rick Petersen

Rick Petersen – Head Coach 13U
Rick is the co-founder of Lightning Baseball of New England, associate director, and head coach in the baseball program. He has coached at many age levels since 1994 when the program was developed. He is currently a regional scouting associate for the San Diego Padres and previously held a similar position in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He has held instructor positions at area baseball schools and indoor facilities. He held coaching positions with the TOP96 All Stars elite travel baseball team. He has also served as an assistant high school varsity baseball coach. Rick has been an instructor and coach at many level of baseball from youth leagues through high school. He is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association and past member of the Eastern MA Umpires Association. He is also the 13U Director for the New England Baseball Alliance, the regions premiere travel baseball organization. Rick has served as an instructor for hitting, pitching, and fielding at numerous baseball clinics.

Brian Muenzner

Bryan Muenzner – Assistant Coach 13U
Bryan Muenzner enters his fourth season in 2009-2010 as an assistant coach to Rick Petersen on the U13s. He has instructed at several major colleges showcase camps in New England. He also has been involved in coaching competitive High School and American Legion Baseball in Massachusetts. Bryan is the recruiting coordinator for the Lightning 13U baseball program.

Bryan has been an instructor at area baseball camps and clinics. He has been involved in managing numerous Fall League instructional teams. Bryan takes great pride as being a huge part of a continuing success of the Lightning Baseball Program. He was instrumental in the 13U team’s transition and success with the Continental Amateur Baseball Association World Series.

Bryan trains each player in the proper fundamentals of both individual and team play. His enthusiasm and dedication to his players is unmatched.

Bill Furey

Bill Furey – Assistant Coach 13U
Bill has college playing experience as a starting infielder at UMass Lowell. He played his high school baseball at Chelmsford High School where he pitched and played the infield. While being a standout high school player he was twice being selected to the Merrimack Valley All Conference team. Bill has extensive elite travel baseball playing experience from being a member of the New England Wolfpack. He has participated in many NEAAU and National AAU tournaments. Bill currently provides instruction at local area baseball camps and clinics. Bill was a former college teammate of Ryan Williams, head coach of the Lightning 15s.

Sean O'Brien

Sean O'Brien - Assistant Coach 14U
Sean has be a coach in the Lightning Baseball program since 2007. He has served as a top assistant on the 2008 team that finished 4th at the AAU National tournament. Sean has worked as an instructor at various baseball camps and clinics. He is also the manager and lead instructor for Extra Innings in Salisbury.

Sean graduated from Wakefield HS where he played baseball and during the summers played for various select travel teams. Sean then went on to Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. While attending Franklin Pierce, Sean was a member of two Division 2 College World Series teams, once as a player and once as an assistant coach.

Pete Feeley

Pete Feeley - Head Coach 15U
Pete played at Seton Hall University, was a Division II All-American at UMass-Lowell and played professionally in the Detroit Tigers organization. He has been both a head coach and assistant coach in the Lightning Baseball program. He is an evaluator for the Top 96 Invitational Showcase. Pete is also the General Manager, lead hitting instructor and college liaison at Extra Innings.
