Lightning Baseball Cost Comparison
The “total” cost of the Lightning program is approximately $2500 per player per season for our 13U and teams. The cost for 14U is slightly lower for players that already have their uniforms from the previous season. The cost of the 15U and 16U team is slightly lower still because the length of their season is shorter than the 13U and 14U teams. The actual cost depends on the number of players on the team, the location of the AAU National tournament etc.
All of our teams run on a “cost basis” and all of the team funds are managed by a parent “team administrator.” None of the Lightning coaches collects or disburses funds. At the end of the season the “team administrator” will produce a report to each player’s family detailing funds collected, funds disbursed.
At first look $2500 seems expensive when compared to other programs that advertise a cost of $700-$800 dollars but the cost is not an apples to apples comparison. Lightning Baseball offers significantly more than other programs so when you compare what you get Lightning Baseball is a much better value. Here is a side-by-side comparison of what Lightning Baseball offers vs. a local program or team.Lightning Baseball Local Team.

At an approximate cost of $2,500 (actual budgets will be provided when the teams and tournament locations are finalized) your investment covers everything. Other teams don’t offer programs like ours and if they qualify for a national tournament then their players will need to come up with money to cover the cost of the 10 day-trip. We strongly believe that our fall and winter programs are necessary in order to prepare our teams and players to compete at the national level and are therefore a required part of our program with optional attendance. We also know we are going to the AAU National Championship Tournament so we are budgeting for that trip from the very beginning and allow the payments to be spread out over the entire year.
