Lightning Baseball vs. Diamond Warriors @ Waccamaw High School

The Lightning 13’s took on a solid Diamond Warriors team at Waccamaw High School on Sunday afternoon. Having reserved a spot in the next round, the Lightning called on Dan Lane (Weston, MA) and Dan Maddox (Bedford, NH) to eat up some innings for the pitching staff. As both battled against the Diamond Warriors, the Lightning bats were extremely quiet and a few defensive miscues allowed the opposition to gain a commanding lead. The starting pitcher for the Diamond Warriors (Abrams) was very impressive as he attacked hitters with a consistent fastball and mixed in a change-up which got the better of the Lightning hitters. The game concluded with a final score of 10-0 as the Lightning suffered their first defeat of the tournament.
