Finishes 7th in 2007 AAU Nationals

13’s Finish 7th in Myrtle Beach at AAU Nationals

There were 91 teams at the opening ceremonies on Friday and only a few of those teams still remained for the medal ceremony on the following Friday at the Ripken Complex. Lightning Baseball of New England was one of only a very few team that won medals for their success in this highly recognized and prestigious tournament.

The NE Diamond Dawgs and NE Navigators along with the Lightning were the only area teams to finish in the Elite 8. The Lightning also placed two players, Frankie Legere and Walker O’Connor on the All Tournament team. This team is selected by all of the coaches, umpires, and AAU tournament staff as a result of the week’s performance.

This finish has given Lightning Baseball elite status among U13 team nationally, Gold medals in 2004 & 2005, Silver medal in 2006 and now a 7th in 2007. No other New England teams can claim such an accomplishment.
